Many years ago I bought a cookbook at the fair called Pork on your Plate. I have made many recipes from it. This recipe is really good, I love the rosemary in it.
Sausage and Dressing Bake
Ingredients:
2 lbs. pork sausage
4 cups bread crumbs
4 tbsp. minced onion
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. savory
2/3 cup melted butter
4 tbsp. minced celery
1/2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. rosemary
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350ยบ.
Cut your sausage in half and fry in your pan. ( you can leave whole and fry)
When brown set aside.
Place butter in fry pan and melt.
Add onion and celery and saute until transparent.
Add bread crumbs and seasonings.
Do not brown this just moisten.
In your baking dish place a layer of sausage on bottom.
Add the dressing on top of sausage.
Then add the rest of your sausage.
Bake for 20 minutes or until lightly browned.

That looks delicious. I've copie the recipe and will be making it soon. Thanks for sharing the recipe.
that sounds yummo!! might have to make that tonight. but being the southern girl I am, i will probably add in some chicken broth to help moisten it. thanks for sharing!!
This dish would be wonderful on a cold winter night
ok i tried it. not impressed. it was dry and a bit bland, even after I added a can of chicken stock. the one person in my house that ate any of it, picked the sausage out and left the crumbs. the rest was thrown out. and, mine looked nothing like yours in the picture. itsn't that the way of it? LOL!
Anonymous....Sorry yours did not turn out...maybe add more melted butter when adding the bread crumbs... mine was not dry and had lots of flavor...Did you add all the spices?
Granny...I hope you have better luck if you try this recipe... :)
Rosemary... It is good in the cold weather... for sure.. :)
Oooh, I make a sausage stuffing like this. My friend taught me. He adds shrimp to it too! Or crawfish!
Perfect for this freezing weather we have. We Texans aren't use to the cold but we love sausage.
